This page talks of the relationship between the novel the Bible and Wuthering Heights

Bible

In the Bible, Satan appears as the obvious villain. He tempts, corrupts, and seeks to devour all things. Like Satan, Heathcliff's sole purpose for living revolves around seeking revenge on everyone he hates.  In the Bible, Satan tempts Judas through the pharasses by offering him a large amount of silver in exchange for Jesus's life.  Judas played the part of a true friend to Jesus even while he planned to betray him.  In Wuthering Heights,  Heathcliff pretends to be a loving and caring uncle to Cathy, but in truth he utterly despises her.   He only attempts to put on a facade of generosity in order to fulfill his plans of obtaining both estates through Cathy and Linton's marriage.
